ALL ACCESS AWARDS SHOW
Twice a year in Hollywood, everything comes to a standstill.  The first time it is the Academy Awards at the Kodak Theater.  The 2nd happens 2 blocks down at the Knitting Factory when All Access Magazine holds its Annual Awards Show!!  Each AA Awards Show seems to out do the show before it.  Last year, the first act up on stage, the Hair Band,  was the big story!!

This year, things didn't even wait for the first act, before a MAJOR STORY was broke right there at the Show. This story manifested itself when a looooooooooong black streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech limo pulled up on Hollywood Blvd in front of the KF, and the person who first emerged from an entourage of 25, was the answer to the Question, "Will there ever be another band in Hollywood to duplicate or exceed the sheer excitement and charisma of the Doors."  Having been given a preview of his music, both Marc and myself agreed that, the man below, CLIFF MORRISON, JIM'S

SON, will take music to the level his father was attempting to achieve. In brief, Cliff has spent most of his life involved in film work and performing musically in Europe where Jim spent so much time during his final years and where Cliff's album got to  #1 on the charts.  However, Floyd Bocox, a mogul within the music entertainment business, felt that there was an unfulfilled destiny lying in wait for Cliff, and he went to work convincing Cliff to alter his course and attempt to put some life back into an American recording industry which is not what is use to be.  So Cliff, with his mom, Lorraine, managing him, has committed to Floyd and the company headed by Floyd, LIzard Sun Entertainment (named after Cliff's Band), to a musical commitment for the foreseeable future.  Anyway, Cliff, Floyd, Lorraine, and the entire entourage enjoyed the evenings entertainment and commented on the high level of talent up on stage which kept continuing group after group.

The future for Cliff includes the next 2 months solid in the recording studio, and then his band will tentatively make their debut at NAMM at the Marriott Hotel Stage.  This was just announced on Monday 11/19.  Cliff has selected one of our new Goddess Cherry Tigerburst Guitars as his weapon of choice.  So we would like to welcome Cliff to our distinguished roster of artists.

SHEENA METAL'S BEER BONG BAND It wasn't enough that Sheena Metal attempted to steal the show last year, by taking the mic for a couple of numbers by the Hair Band.  But this year, she topped that by reforming a group, which, by my memory, had been voted the most outrageous in West Hollywood about 8 years ago.  Now you can imagine what the group must have been like to get that type of recognition in West Hollywood .  However, the band she showed up with at the Awards Show was more outrageous than the previous one.  Now check this out, the band consisted of Layfette Lixx, Freddi Fretz, Rikki Rokkstar, Ivana Rock (who looked amazingly similar to Danielle Egnew), Mistress Cheery Pie, and Lovitt Loud, besides Sheena.  In total, it appeared every performer was in drag or some other type of mysterious character.  I mean I haven't seen such an outrageous ensemble take the stage since the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  But on the other hand, I haven't seen a crowd lined up to get into a show like this, since the New York Dolls first played the Whiskey back in the 70s.  And Sheena's band lived up to its billing with some level 1 Rock and Roll Music that had the crowd wondering when the group's first album (as presently constituted) will be released.  More on that in our next E-letter.  The band was also voted, People's Choice, (No Surprise There).  While they couldn't get all the group members together at one time for a group picture, playing it straight, the band consisted of Sheena, Danielle, Pat Shee, Rick Vacarro, Paul Huston, Beth Cola, and Ricardo Sebastian.  Expect to hear more from this group in the VERY NEAR FUTURE.

THE FEISTY PIRANHAS The Piranhas seem to be winners everywhere they go, and the fact they were voted best Album, (The End) came as no surprise to anyone after becoming elegible for 12 Grammys in the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.  Michael Gossard, who was one of the big winners at the All Access Summer Youth competition, and featured in our last E-letter, has joined the Piranhas and can be seen at the left. He still, however, will perform with his own band, ACIDIC. I will also sneak in the fact that the Piranhas also took Best Punk Group and Best Independent CD at the South Bay Music Awards.  Again, no surprise to anyone here.

THE FEISTY PIRANHAS AT VENTURA Not resting on their laurels from the AA and SB Award Shows, the Feisty Piranhas accepted an invitation to open for the MISFITS at the legendary Ventura Theatre.  This is considered an A level venue and the 1000 or so screaming fans really soaked up the FPs brand of Punk Metal music including some really cool ballads.  The pictures below will give you an idea of the atmosphere there including a really frightening MOSH PIT!!!  Way to go Piranhas!!!!
